General alert with regards to using your Online accounts in internet cafes
As a rule, we strongly advise against this.
It has come to our attention that your on-line security maybe compromised if you access any of your internet accounts, via link-ups in internet cafes.
There are numerous alerts and concerns that have recently been raised about some internet cafes using key-logging software. This is effectively a ‘recorder’ that stores all key-strokes made on any given machine. The owner can then look over their records for ‘user names’, ‘passwords’ and god forbid, ‘bank account/credit card details’. So, we would like to warn all of our readers, NEVER to access any of your accounts from a machine that you don’t have complete faith in.
Use your best judgement and a bit of common sense and you should be fine.
Technical advice:
If you would like to know what software is active on the machine you are using, press ‘Ctrl’ + ‘Alt’ + ‘Delete’ (all at the same time). The machine’s inventory will pop-up in the ‘Task Manager’ window. If any of the items are named: ‘Logger’, ‘Log’, ‘recorder’, ‘keystroke’ etc etc etc, avoid usage at all costs. winlogon.exe is not a threat.
This software was spotted (personally) in one of the biggest “chains” of internet cafes in Pattaya and if they can use it then its a pretty safe bet that others are too.
Be safe, be sure

why u did not call the police then ? its time they start investigating cybercrime there.

Thanks for your comment you raise a good point. However, when you have lived here as long as I have (14 years) you know what is worthwhile and what is a complete waste of time.
Besides which adding keylogger software to computers you own is not a crime, only using the info’ gathered for fraudulent purposes. They would simply argue that they are looking for people using sites that are illegal in thailand and the police would probably take THEIR side in that argument.
Finally, no I didnt mean that particular cafe. I found them in the Enjoy cafes or which there are many.
