The penny has finally dropped. Pattaya is to have its first large scale freelancer bar based on the concept of the freelancer Beer Garden in Soi 7, Bangkok.

Quite why it has taken anyone so long to duplicate the success of the Bangkok version is anyones guess. Given the fact that Pattaya has two things more often moaned about than anything else:-

1. High barfine prices, to say nothing of the ridiculous practice of bar owners charging bar fines for freelancers (never happens in Bangkok).

2. The lack of something to do in the afternoons!

Hopefully we will now have one big busy and successful bar not 500 bars with one customer staring into his Heineken.

I wish the new owner all the best and just wonder how long it will take until the bar is copied. I would hazard a guess at weeks not months for that to happen!
