Pattaya Ghost Busters

Oct 20th, 2008 | By Admin1 | Category: Lead Articles, Pattaya, Pattaya blogs

Pattaya GhostbustersVery amusing twist to the ongoing battle between Pattaya Ghost and just about everyone else actually living in Thailand.

This week saw the launch of www.pattayaghostbusters.com which seems to aim to parody the Ghosts blog.

Given that Pattaya Ghost seems to write nothing but negative reports about Pattaya a parody site will certainly be popular with business owners although the Ghosts readers will probably continue to enjoy his tabloid style far more methinks. Looking at his stat’s it is quite clear the initial buzz has worn off as they are certainly on the slide even if no yet in total freefall.

I rather enjoy it despite the fact that it usually does nothing but damage to a place most of us happen to love.

  1. How would you know what his stats are? From his latest articles, it seems he’s at an allt-ime high. Since tht kind of thing is private, I’d say you’re just making it up.

Sounds like you have a personal vested interest. Considering how lame this site is and now nothing original is posted. Maybe you shoudl take some lessons from him.

Or maybe you’re one of sad Addicts people?

    2 Million B.C.

  2. Ummm……… as I said I rather like his blog, not a detractor. Yep this site is pretty lame not sure why you are having a pop though.

Its pretty easy to check stats trends but yes you cannot check actual numbers. As I said the “trend” is downwards but not in any freefall.

  3. Disappointed in you. Thought this might be a decent News site. Perhaps youa re indeed connected with the Addicts misfits?

In any case, you have no idea what you’re spouting off about:

Looks like a pretty strong upward trendline to me.

Just FYI, trend sites generally track only U.S.-based ISPs. Sites with large overseas traffic are not counted accurately. And Alexa is totally skewed as they measure only those users with their toolbar installed.

    Get back to news please.

(Nice WP theme by the way, was considering this one when I set up the blog.)

  4. Sorry, also note the stats chart is from today, Thursday, so the last data point is an incomplete week.

  5. Hmmmm well firstly I stated quite clearly I LIKE your blog. Just thought the busters thing was amusing not commenting.

Thanks for the explanation but not sure of the point – the stats link you gave is a weekly graph and shows a pretty steady decline over the last 2 weeks. If its gone up again then I am happy to change opinion :)

  6. What chart are YOU looking at? The last two weeks are the busiest ever. And tis week is half way to the same total.

  7. I’ve updated it with annotations so its easier for you to understand:

  8. Finally we have somewhere where we can write what we think about this loser.

At least the owner of this site and the owner of pattayaghostbusters.com doesnt edit/delete comments like he obviously does!

I wouldn’t be suprised if most of those comments on his blog are written by pattaya ghost anyway.

The guy is an asshole, if he expects us to believe that stats page is true then he must think we were all born yesterday!

    Muppet.

  9. Well guys, I dont want to lower myself to editing or deleting comments LOL so please take you spat to the Busters site.

My original article was just about something I found amusing – not my fight please.

  10. LOL BOB – considering you were caught red handed doctoring your stats before, and are a proven expert with photoshop, do you actually expect anyone to believe the latest little gif(t) regardless of whether its up or down.

  11. I don’t know any of those involved, nor live in Pattaya. But I do go there occasionally and appreciate the information Ghost puts out. As someone who works in the back-end engineering and internet development in Bangkok, I have to say that the ghost is the only person who’d have access to the stats. The WordPress platform’s statistics are done not on a local server, but supplied via API from the Wodpress.com servers to clients via a plugin. So they cannot be manipulated.

Of course as someone says they’re always photoshop, though I cannot see how Pedro would know if any statistics are faked or not (i.e. “considering you were caught red handed doctoring your stats before.”) Since no one except the ghost would know what the actual stats are, it strikes me as impossible for anyone to “catch” him at changing them. He’s the only one that would know.

Seems like there’s a lot of angst over something pretty insignificant as a whore blog. People, just go out and get laid. That’s what I do when I visit Pattaya.
